In the heart of technology

For as long as I can remember I have always been magically attracted by technology. Coming from a relatively low tech country, It has always been my lifelong dream of being in the heart of technology, surrounded by technological marvels. While following this dream, I graduated as a Software Engineer and started working as one, getting a bit closer on achieving this dream.

Few months ago, I applied for an internship opportunity at AADF MIP fellowship program. The internship was a great opportunity that would propelled me forward on faster achieving my dream. After I got accepted at AADF, I had to interview with companies in the U.S. that would accept me as a trainee and I had the opportunity to be placed at Inbenta an AI company, which was located in Silicon Valley. When I got accepted as a trainee at Inbenta, I couldn’t believe that I was so close on achieving my lifelong dream. Five months ago the major change in my life occurred when I moved from Albania to the USA.

I started the journey with an internship at Inbenta, where i was placed as a trainee under Product Management on Sales team. Inbenta is an AI company which provides online self-service & conversion with AI & natural language processing services, committed to providing the best conversation solutions like chat bot, live agent chat, knowledge management and search engine. Backed by Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology, Inbenta’s Semantic Search software can power everything from intuitive chatbots to search engine solutions within website and corporate Intranets, ultimately resulting in a better online customer experience. Inbenta has a vast technology stack, which gives the potential to achieve the highest possible service satisfaction to any of its clients. This allowed me to follow my path and learn more about AI and especially NLP technology, it’s potential and use-cases. Inbenta envisions a society where humans will interact seamlessly with technology and strives to provide the most beneficial solutions for its users.

When i joined Inbenta i was greeted by the team manager and got a warm welcome from all the team. The first few weeks went by pretty fast trying to understand how Inbenta works and also getting familiar with the technology stacks that Inbenta uses. As an Inbenter my first task was to help my colleague on creating a Search demo for our new prospect. As soon as I started working on the project I felt like this was the place to be. My manager also helped me alot getting started and soon my tasks came pouring in. Currently i have finished several projects with Inbenta, ranging from creation of prototypes/demos, to creating tool apps which where a helpful alot for our internal teams on their daily tasks, but also be potentially profitable in the near future.

Some of the most amazing work I have created at Inbenta include creation of a Prospect app which comes to the help of any employee at Inbenta. The app consists of automatically creation of a search demo residing on the information we get from the corresponding prospect’s website. After retrieving this information the app creates a Prospect Demo and then the Sales team can present this demo. This happens all automatically and uses different, previously-unknown-by-me, technologies. I learned most of the Inbenta’s infrastructure from this project. After completion of this project I was assigned by my manager as the directly responsible person for this project. I am still managing this app. Other projects created include creation of a chatbot demo app for one of our biggest customers Groupon. This was a huge project where many Inbenta engineers took part and i was one of them. The demo feature will be used by Groupon’s users, and the idea was that any customer would be able to return a previously bought Groupon item. This was one of the biggest features in the Groupon’s feature tasks and consisted of complex data gathering, manipulation and different service integrations for these data to be available on Groupon’s ecosystem. Currently i am working on creation of Pinterest’s demo Multi Instance Reporting platform, which consists of different feature components brought together in order for Pinterest’s Reports in different Inbenta instances to be in one visible place and easily readable. Later charts feature will be added to this project.

I am currently still working on the Pinterest project, looking forward to fully completing this project and hopefully, in the future, putting it on my Resume. And whilst I am tirelessly working and learning new things at Inbenta for five months now, I sometimes stop, look around and be grateful I am briefly living in the heart of technology.
